What is a Training Film?

Some people use the words Training Films and Corporate Video interchangeably.  There is a slight difference. Here, we focus on a Training Film.

A Training Film is one that is used to instruct.  It normally will feature  a speaker, teacher or instructor expertly training utilizing text, powerpoint presentations, graphs and charts.

The topic of a training film can be anything from new software, to a new educational program, to the roll out of a new product.  Some training films are nothing more than a shot of a computer walking the viewer through a set-by-step process of how to use a new software application.  With the addtion of narration, these are simple, easy to shoot, and relatively inexpensive.

Teachers, new product inventors, executive management, corporate trainers, and colleges and universities use training films as an expeditious way of communicating.  The video can be mailed, sent via computer , placed on a website or played to hundreds, instead of relying on a single meeting that might require extensive note-taking by the trainees.  Combine a training session with ’streaming’ and voila - you have an instant session in which countless viewers and companies can view simultaneously at various locations around the world.

Training Films are growing in popularity given the mobile society in which we live.

    Hi Sherry,
I’ve voiced training media for the likes of Verizon Wireless and Pearson Education. Please hear my demos and see if I’d be a good fit for your work at http://belchernet.com

    Thanks,
